G.P. Austin renovations nearing end, Linden board welcomes new member
The Linden Board of Education met for a brief meeting last Wednesday, June 15 where they discussed the ongoing renovation project at G.P. Austin Middle School. Under old business, Superintendent Dr. Timothy Thurman said that everything is moving smoothly with the G.P. Austin project and he expects to transition back to the school building during the first week of July. Classes had been held in the trade center building for the majority of the spring semester.

Marion Rodeo draws crowd to Perry County, photo gallery
The 27th Annual Marion Rodeo was held June 17 and 18, and the promoters are pleased with how many people turned out to watch the cowboys and cowgirls. The rodeo opened with the always-popular mutton busting. These kids are training for bigger things in their rodeo future, but for now they entertained the crowd by riding sheep.
