A pair of Boy Scout troops from Wisconsin stepped up to help in the immediate aftermath of Monday's Amtrak crash in Missouri, which left three people dead. Boy Scout Troops 73 and 12, of Appleton, Wisconsin, were returning home from a 10-day backpacking trip in New Mexico when the train they were riding collided with a dump truck in Mendon, Missouri, Scott Armstrong, director of national media relations with the Boy Scouts of America, tells PEOPLE.

Three Injured In Accident In Grundy County

Three were injured in a single-vehicle accident in Grundy County Monday afternoon. State Troopers responded to the accident on NW 22nd, north of Trenton at about 4:30 pm. The report states 25-year-old Samantha L Knapp of Trenton was southbound when she lost control and ran off the right side of the road, striking an embankment, overturning onto the driver’s side and then back to its wheels.

Three from Trenton, including 7-year-old, injured in single-vehicle crash

Three Trenton residents, including a child, were injured Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle, rollover, accident just north of Trenton. Taken by EMS to Wright Memorial Hospital were the driver, 25-year-old Samantha Knapp as well as passengers, 29-year-old Brandon Burkhardt, and a seven-year-old boy. The highway patrol reported the two adults received moderate injuries and the young boy received minor injuries.
