PORTLAND, Maine — A former Maine police officer died following a car crash Sunday morning in Oklahoma. Lara Sarett, 26, previously served as an officer in Hallowell, Maine, before leaving for Oklahoma "to pursue her dream of being a lawyer," a Facebook post from the Hallowell Police Department states.

Kenneth Sanford Sidelinger Sr., 76, passed away on Mother’s Day, May 8, 2022 after a very long battle with his health. He was born Nov. 17, 1945 in Damariscotta, to Harry Jackson Sidelinger and Delia Grace Smith. He grew up in the Somerville area and attended local schools in Somerville and Coopers Mills and Whitefield. He attended Union High School.

Megan Phelps named new Bowdoin College women's basketball coach

BRUNSWICK (WGME) – The Bowdoin women's basketball team has named Megan Phelps as the Polar Bears’ new head coach. As a former player, Phelps starred at MDI and later Bowdoin College. Most recently, Phelps served as an assistant coach under Adrienne Shibles both at Bowdoin and last season at Dartmouth. Now she's back in Brunswick and couldn't be happier.
