A Dallas man is facing charges of murder for shooting and killing an unarmed robber he believed was attacking two dollar store employees. Fox 4 reports that the shooter stayed and spoke with the police. The man was identified as 47-year-old Kevin Jackson and was legally carrying the gun he used to kill Phillip Betts inside the Family Dollar store in Oak Cliff. Jackson told police he was worried about the safety of the two employees.

WFAA reports that 37-year-old Brian Demarcus Davis has been indicted on four charges that include: conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamine, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of narcotics trafficking.

The Allen ISD school board has approved a controversial rezoning plan that impacts thousands of elementary school students in the area. The board voted 7-1 to redraw boundary lines. Fox 4 reports that the district says this all stems from west side schools being overcrowded while some on the east side will be repurposed. Two of the schools being closed are Anderson and Roundtree Elementary. the eissue would be felt by students across the district, as Allen ISD works to put all schools at 80% capacity.
