Give 4 Custer County: Teammates Burger Bash 4:30-7 PM Thursday

TEAMMATES— It’s burger bash time! Teammates will be having a burger bash on Thursday, June 24 at Grocery Kart in Broken Bow from 4:30-7:00 PM. The bash, sponsored by Grocery Kart, will feature a burger, chips, and a drink. Proceeds from this event will be matched by the Custer County Foundation through the Give 4 Custer County Program which began on June 15.

The “Spirit of the Sandhills” Softball Tournament Comes to Broken Bow this Weekend

The “Spirit of the Sandhills” girls softball tournament returns to Broken Bow this week. This marks the third year of the event. KCNI/KBBN radio visited with Tom Griffith, president of the Custer County Diamond Youth Organization, about this year’s event. Organizers are planning on 41 teams for this year’s tournament with competition taking place in three divisions (12 & under, 14 & under, and a combined 16-18 & under division). Griffith said that teams will be coming from all over the state.

Remember back when we were taught to not discuss sex or politics and to stick to a safe topic like the weather? Well, it seems like here in Nebraska we’re going to be able to have some pretty safe discussions for the next couple of days. PHS reports just one new COVID case over the last week

CRETE, NE — A southeast Nebraska health department is reporting its lowest number of new COVID-19 cases since before the pandemic. Public Health Solutions serves Fillmore, Gage, Jefferson, Saline and Thayer counties. The health department says only one person in the district tested positive over the last week. PHS had reported at least two positive tests every week since March 29 of last year.

CUSTER COUNTY— A South Dakota man made his first appearance in Custer County Court on Monday, June 14 facing alleged drug charges. Richard Holiday Jr., 38 of Dante, S.D., is facing an alleged charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute (Class IIA Felony) and possession of marijuana more than an ounce, less than a pound (Class III Misdemeanor).
