JOHNSONBURG--The final Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) report is all that is standing in the way of the Johnsonburg Municipal Authority (JMA) turning on and using the new water treatment plant. The project, 8 years in the making, has all of the substantial construction complete but has yet to receive final approval from the DEP (Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection). Pennsylvania Senator Cris Dush, who represents the region, was thanked by the Authority for reaching out to them and setting up a meeting later in the week to try to expedite the process.

East Randolph Man Charged in Weekend Domestic Incident

Cattaraugus County Sheriff's deputies arrested an East Randolph man on multiple charges stemming from a domestic incident that occurred on Saturday. Deputies report that 22-year-old Trajan Wofford was taken into custody on charges of endangering the welfare of a child, 4th-degree criminal mischief, and 2nd-degree harassment. Wofford was taken to the Cattaraugus County Jail and later released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in Randolph Town Court at a later date.

Smethport Man Jailed For Child Endangerment

A Smethport man is in jail and facing child endangerment charges following an overdose earlier this month. According to reports, Smethport Police arrived at the home of 42 year old Steve Dunkle for a cardiac arrest on June 9th. After arrival they found Dunkle to be in cardiac arrest with a blue tint to his body. When EMS arrived Dunkle was given a dose of Narcan which revived him. He then told EMS that he thought he had used a drug that may have been laced with fentanyl.
