Paducah Police seek help finding a man wanted in several counties

Paducah Police are seeking the public’s help in finding a man wanted in several counties. Police said 32-year-old Andrew P. Lowery is accused of using a stolen check to purchase a motorcycle from a local business earlier this month. The check, and several other checks, were reported stolen by a Livingston County resident. Lowery also has outstanding warrants in McCracken, Livingston and Carlisle counties.

Federal grand jury in Paducah indicts three men on gun offenses

According to the indictments, a federal grand jury in Paducah returned three indictments in May, charging three men with firearm offenses. The grand jury indicted 43-yer-old Shaun Powers of Hopkinsville on charges of illegal possession of a machine gun, 30-year-old Cleve Nedd, Jr. of Hopkinsville, charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and 22-year-old Anthony Jones of Indianapolis, Indiana, on charges of engaging in the business of dealing firearms and illegal possession of a machine gun.

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – Two men face charges after a traffic stop turned into a foot chase and drugs found. Miles Estes, 31, of Trenton, New Jersey faces charges of fleeing or evading police 1st degree (on foot), resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia and criminal mischief 3rd degree.

Home search nets two arrests for outstanding warrants

On Wednesday afternoon, a pair of McCracken County men were arrested on outstanding warrants following the search of a home. Detectives with the Paducah Police Department said they served a warrant at a home on Greer Street where 26-year-old Liwan Martin and 20-year-old Quandarius Jones were found at the residence with outstanding warrants.

Liwan Quantae Martin, 26, of Westbrook Boulevard, was arrested on a warrant charging him with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (second offense), trafficking in marijuana (less than eight ounces – second offense), second-degree possession of a controlled substance and failure to wear a seat belt.

Drug Arrest after a short foot pursuit

On June 30, 2022 at 2:08 AM, Deputy Tyler Crane and Deputy Chandler Sirls conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on KY 58 East. The vehicle in question was determined to have no valid insurance. During an investigation to verify ownership of the vehicle, deputies attempted to identify the front seat passenger, later determined to be Miles Estes, 31 of Trenton, TN. Estes initially gave deputies false information in order to conceal the discovery of an active warrant out of Tennessee. Deputy Crane attempted to detain Estes as his true identity was still unconfirmed. At that time, Estes began fleeing on foot. Estes ran across Ky 58 East into the yard of a local business attempting to flee. After a short foot pursuit and a brief struggle, Deputy Crane was able to apprehend Estes. A search of Estes incident to arrest yielded two syringes, which field tested positive for methamphetamine. Estes was placed under arrest at that time.

Louisville fugitive arrested in Symsonia; will face new meth trafficking charge

A weeklong surveillance of a wanted Louisville man ended with his arrest in Symsonia on Thursday. The Graves County Sheriff’s Office said they received information that a wanted Louisville man was on the run and hiding in northeastern Graves County. The man, 31-year-old Joshua Burd of Louisville and formerly of Graves County, was also wanted on outstanding warrants out of McCracken and Marshall Counties.

PADUCAH — The Paducah Middle School Site Based Decision Making Council has chosen Wes Newsome to be the new Paducah Middle School assistant principal. According to a release sent today, Newsome has nine years of teaching experience. He reportedly began teaching at Paducah Tilghman Highschool as the English as a Second Language Teacher and yearbook advisor. Recently, he was on the Paducah Instructional Team as a District Instructional Coach.
