Goochland County to Hold Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration

Join Goochland County for an annual tradition, the 2022 Goochland County Fireworks!. Fireworks will be shot off between the Goochland High and Elementary lots and can be seen at a variety of places throughout the Courthouse Village. Spectators are encouraged to park at County Administration complex, the Fairground property, Goochland Elementary School, and the Goochland Middle/High School complex back parking lot (please note the front parking lot is closed due to construction). Parking opens at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 9 p.m.

Dr. Donelle Boose steps into her new role as assistant professor of history and Black studies at R-MC this fall on the heels of earning her doctorate in U.S. history from American University, where she was an adjunct instructor. Her doctoral research focused on the origins of the Black Power movement and civil rights activism in Washington, D.C. Boose earned a bachelor’s degree in African American studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree in Africana studies from Cornell University.

Longwood alum Jessica Pham returns to alma mater as assistant coach

Jessica Pham has joined the Longwood women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach, head coach Erika Lang-Montgomery announced Friday. Pham, a Longwood alum whose basketball career began in Farmville, comes back to Longwood after stops at Wake Forest, Liberty and Canisius. Her resume sports trips to both the NCAA Tournament and Women’s National Invitational Tournament.
