Montgomery County Man Jailed for FTA

(Red Oak) Red Oak Police arrested Randall Wesley Lynn Butts, 28, of Red Oak, early this morning following a traffic stop near Broadway and Market Street. Officers transported Butts to the Montgomery County Jail on an active warrant for Failure to Appear on an original charge of Interference with Official Acts. He is held on a $1,000 bond.

Multi-vehicle accident reported on I-80 WB near Exit 57 in Cass County

(Atlantic, Iowa) – Atlantic Fire & Rescue, Cass EMS and law enforcement responded to a reported multi-vehicle accident on I-80 westbound near Exit 57 (Olive Street), Tuesday (today). At least one vehicle had reportedly rolled over, and one person was complaining of a possible back injury. The crash was reported at around 4:23-p.m. Westbound traffic was reduced to one lane and backed-up for miles. Additional details are currently unavailable. Bateman Steps into Cass County Youth and 4-H Role: Alumni brings experience and enthusiasm to local program

(Atlantic, Iowa) – Cass County Extension Director Kate Olson reports Katie Bateman is the new, Youth Programs Coordinator at the Cass County Extension Office. Olson says Bateman is no stranger to the 4-H program, and that knowledge will serve her well in the role she began in Mid-May. She’s has jumped right in to working with youth, parents, volunteers, and partners across the county, Olson says. The Youth Program Coordinator role is a full-time position, with responsibility for youth outreach programming and 4-H program management in Cass County. Katie’s first month on the job has been a flurry of activity with livestock weigh-in and entries, county fair preparation and summer daycamps and programming.

ACGC Results From Softball/Baseball Trip To Stuart

Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center softball and baseball teams fell in tightly contested games at Stuart Tuesday night. Red Oak board approves 2022-23 insurance plan

(Red Oak) - Significant insurance increases continue to give Red Oak school officials some caution. During its regular meeting Monday evening, the Red Oak School Board approved a one-year insurance agreement for the 2022-23 school year with United Group Insurance, including a 16% increase -- or over $47,000 -- from the current year's total premium of roughly $342,500. The policy covers several areas ranging from worker's compensation to cyber insurance. Red Oak School Superintendent Ron Lorenz says nearly every item on the policy saw an increase.
