Jemez Springs businesses stay afloat in the face of fires, flash floods

JEMEZ SPRINGS (KRQE) – Businesses in the village of Jemez Springs nestled near the Santa Fe National Forest have a simple formula for survival in an average year: “Locals are our most important thing. But right below that is the tourism and we survive off of all the great people that come and visit and spend their money here. This is how we make it through our winters,” says Rachael Montaño, general manager of Los Ojos Restaurant and Saloon.

Letter To The Editor: Admiration For Archbishop Wester

I admire Archbishop Wester for doing all he can to settle the more than 375 lawsuits filed by people abused by pedophiles in the Archdiocese. Fifty years ago some of my friends and I took our children to a Christmas party at the Servants of the Paraclete in Jemez Springs. The priests who lived there were also at the party. Many years later we found out that some of these priests were pedophiles. Many of them were released to parishes in New Mexico where they continued to abuse children.

The tournament will be held in Sweden, July 17-23.
