Ponderosa High School student Paloma Daubert has been playing soccer for more than 10 years. She started with the American River Futbol Club before moving to the San Juan Soccer Club, where she joined the Player Development Program — a decision that has resulted in the 16-year-old, who also played for PHS this past season, being chosen as one of 18 girls who will represent California and compete in the Gothia Cup, considered the World Cup for youth soccer. The tournament will be held in Sweden, July 17-23.
