Obituary for Jeremy James Linebaugh

Jeremy James Linebaugh, age 49, passed away on June 30, 2022. He was born on June 18, 1973, the son of James and Judy (Hans) Linebaugh. Jeremy loved visiting with friends, camping in the family woods, and sitting around the bonfire with his dad and other family members. He was a great cook and was a trucker for most of his working life. He was employed at American Tower as a crew chief at the time of his passing. He was especially excited for the birth of his great nephew coming in November. He couldn't wait to be the best great uncle ever.

Ella Prohaska, 10, set up a lemonade stand to help raise money at a Kroger in St. Johns and raised $80. She dropped the money in a parking lot and the person who found it wouldn’t give it back.

The Portland Civic Players

The Portland Civic Players were started up in 1955 by local enthusiasts and they have been enchanting audiences ever since. The players purchased the Sun Theater in 1971 and then made improvements to it to accommodate live performances. The players produce a play every spring and a musical every fall. Mary Teachout is currently serving as president of the players’ board of directors.

Leprino Foods helped send Vietnam Veterans to Washington

REMUS — Leprino Foods in Remus recently made a $10,000 donation to the Mid-Michigan Honor Flight association to support a trip for Vietnam Veterans through the organization. The trip, named “C.A.R. Yellow Ribbon Honor Flight,” took the Veterans to Arlington National Cemetery to participate in a wreath-laying, then to the National Mall to visit the memorials honoring those who served.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins on Saturday signed goaltender John Lethemon (LETH-eh-muhn) to a one-year contract. Lethemon, 25, spent much of the 2021-22 season with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in the ECHL, compiling a 15-11-6 record, a 2.69 goals against average and a 0.911 save percentage during the regular season. The netminder also went 2-4 with a 3.04 goals against average in six playoff games for Greenville. In two campaigns with the Swamp Rabbits from 2020-22, Lethemon posted a 28-16-11 mark with a 2.70 GAA and a 0.908 save percentage.
