CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – The death of a Clarion University student whose body was found in Highland Township earlier this year has been ruled accidental. On February 21, 21-year-old James Whitman, of Riverview, Florida, was found deceased approximately 100 feet above the Toby Creek Bridge on Bigley Road, in Highland Township, Clarion County.

Erie man among group indicted in federal drug trafficking probe covering parts of western PA

Federal authorities have charged an Erie man in an investigation involving drug trafficking in parts of western Pennsylvania. Jermall Johnson, 24, who remained at large Friday morning, is among 25 people charged in two separate but related indictments. Authorities accuse the group of trafficking multiple drugs, including heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine in Mercer and Lawrence counties "and beyond," according to information released by Acting U.S. Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman.

St. Marys man jailed for allegedly threatening to shoot woman

RIDGWAY — A St. Marys man is confined in the Elk County Jail on felony charges after he allegedly threatened to kill a woman and pointed a gun at her. Mustafa Skendo Hitaj, 44, of St. Marys, is charged with aggravated assault –attempts to cause bodily injury, a felony in the first degree; possession of a prohibited firearm, a second-degree felony; terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, simple assault and cited for harassment, according to a criminal complaint filed at Magisterial District Judge James Martin’s office May 11.

The FBI in Pittsburgh is seeking two men who are wanted on grand jury indictments for selling narcotics in Lawrence and Mercer counties.
