Trailer-maker Fruehauf to open plant in Transpark

Fruehauf Corp., a manufacturer of truck trailers and other machinery, has chosen Bowling Green as the home for its first U.S. manufacturing presence in more than 20 years. Fruehauf Mexico, which has been producing Fruehauf brand trailers since the 1960s, will reintroduce the brand to the U.S. by moving into a 125,000-square-foot speculative building being constructed near the Warren County Area Technology Center in the Kentucky Transpark.

Man resists arrest, gives several fake names, after blocking highway in stolen vehicle

GRAYSON CO., Ky. (WBKO) - Grayson County Sheriff’s Office said they have recovered three stolen vehicles in one week. On Monday, May 31, Jonathan Lewis of Vincennes, Indiana was arrested after a stolen vehicle was recovered. Authorities said Lewis was blocking a highway and told a deputy that his name was Jay Wells, along with a date of birth that turned out to be untrue. Lewis continued to give the deputy fake names, until a picture from dispatch revealed Lewis as the potential suspect in the case. Lewis was positively identified as the suspect and charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000, giving an officer false identifying information, obstructing a highway, and resisting arrest.

GCSO recovers stolen vehicles, arrests 3

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office arrested three people in one week on charges related to stolen vehicles. The first incident occurred last Monday, May 31, when, while responding to a reckless driver complaint in the Clarkson area, GCSO Deputy Caleb Owens spotted a vehicle matching the description of the reckless vehicle given out by Grayson County Central Dispatch.

In the June 2, 1921, edition of the Daily News, J.A. Barlow & Co., a used car lot at 934 College St. in Bowling Green, advertised a “1920 Ford Car, Good as New” for $375; a 1920 Ford Skeeter for $125; a 1917 Studebaker Touring Car, “a Real Bargain,” for $350; and a 1919 Dodge Touring Car, “just been overhauled,” for $650.

Police: BG man causes multiple crashes, steals vehicle

A Bowling Green man was arrested Friday after reportedly crashing into a city police cruiser and then stealing another vehicle in an effort to flee. Officers from the Bowling Green Police Department were at the scene of a crash Friday evening in the 1200 block of the U.S. 31-W By-Pass when a silver 2021 Kia Soul crashed into a BGPD cruiser.

Caneyville buys new emergency vehicles

The Caneyville City Commission on Monday night voted to purchase new vehicles for both the Caneyville fire and police departments. After some discussion, and review of the bid specifications by members of the Caneyville Fire Department, the city commission voted to purchase a 2021 Ford F-550 Crew Cab Southeast Extreme Duty Urban Attack 300 Mini-Pumper from Southeast Apparatus in Corbin, Kentucky at the cost of $219,950.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - The Warren County Sheriff’s Department says on Friday morning, a suspicious vehicle was found on Plum Springs Road. The vehicle was registered to B & R Electrical on Kelly Road, where it was discovered that there was damage to the fence behind the building. The sheriff’s department says it was obvious that a vehicle had driven through the gate.
