Abandoned Walterboro auto shop catches fire second time in 3 months

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCIV) — A former auto-shop building caught fire again for the second time in three months, according to Colleton County Fire-Rescue. The building was condemned by the Building Department after the first fire on March 30, however, squatters had been living in the two-story building. No injuries were reported.

USC Salkehatchie celebrates commencement; 167 degrees awarded

USC Salkehatchie awarded 138 associate degrees at a commencement ceremony on the Salkehatchie Commons at the Allendale campus on April 29. Vigil to honor Colleton County mother, daughters killed in deputy-involved crash

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCSC) - The Colleton County community will gather Friday night to remember three women killed on Mother’s Day in a crash involving a deputy. Stephanie Dantzler, 53; and her daughters, Shanice Dantzler-Williams, 28; and Miranda Dantzler-Williams, 22; died at approximately 11 p.m. Sunday when their vehicle and a patrol vehicle driven by a Charleston County deputy who was responding to a call for a disabled vehicle collided on Savannah Highway at New Road.
