17-Year-Old Charged in Drug Related Shooting in Mt. Juliet

A 17-year-old shooting victim is recovering, and the 17-year-old shooter was charged after fast, relentless efforts by Mt. Juliet police officers and assisting resources. Around 7:10 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, an MJPD detective noticed the shooting victim in a strip mall parking lot in the 2000 block of N. Mt. Juliet Road. The shooting just occurred, and the detective witnessed a suspect sprinting across Mt. Juliet Road. The detective, who was able to begin life-saving efforts for the single gunshot to the victim, was able to call for assistance and provide details on the suspect. Multiple officers responded to the area and established a containment zone to search for the suspect.

(September 14, 2021) Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – After a lengthy search, two suspects were apprehended after running away from a stolen truck, alerted to officers by Guardian Shield. Around 9:05 a.m. this morning, Guardian Shield alerted officers to a stolen 2004 Dodge Ram pick-up truck as it entered the city from Hermitage on Lebanon Road. (September 11, 2021) This afternoon, around 4:22 p.m., Guardian Shield alerted officers to a stolen Nissan Altima as it entered the city limits from Hermitage.
