Bainbridge man accidentally shoots himself killing raccoon

BAINBRIDGE, Ohio — Deputies say a Bainbridge man is expected to be okay after accidentally shooting himself. According to reports, law enforcement responded to Garman Lane in Ross County Sunday morning after a man called 9-1-1 to report he had shot himself in the foot. The man told deputies he was trying to kill a raccoon on his porch. That’s when, deputies say the gun’s trigger became caught on the man’s pants and fired.

LOGAN — The Hocking County Board of Commissioners solidified a dog’s retirement plans during their Tuesday, May 11 morning meeting. Hocking County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Caleb Moritz asked the board to retire Dzeck, a patrol and narcotics dog. Dzeck, as in “Zeke,” has worked for the sheriff’s office since 2015.
