Athens County Students And Teachers Team Up To Create Community Mural

ATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) — From rolling hills, to pawpaws, to bricks, to “ditch lilies,” there are a lot of symbols that students think of when they think of Athens County. These ideas, and the communities they represent, will be intertwined in a mural created by local students and teachers. Students’ ideas about their communities are at the heart of the project, consisting of eight panels they painted that were then attached to aluminum sheets by their teachers.

Radio Free Athens June 12 Show to Feature Larry & the Lima Beans, The Terra Era

12 p.m. – 3 p.m. Emily. I have no theme planned for this weekend although there are a few things that will be influencing what I play. Unfortunately we have lost three friends over the last month, including the front man for my first band so I will be playing some Larry and the Lima Beans for him and music that I associate with the others. We are starting to see a return to live music (I saw Angela Perley at Stuart’s last night) so I will be taking a look at some upcoming shows. And, as always, we will listen to some new stuff. Please join me from 9 to noon on wonderful Radio Free Athens.
