One killed in head-on crash in Ross County

ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — One person was killed Wednesday during a head-on crash in Chillicothe. It happened early in the morning along Veterans Parkway. Troopers confirmed to the Guardian that a gold Cadillac went left of center and hit a black pickup truck. The driver of the Cadillac, Jayson D. Gordon, 41, Chillicothe, died at the scene, according to law enforcement.

Agents raid home of Chillicothe councilman, youth pastor, and teacher

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Agents raided the home of a Chillicothe teacher, youth pastor, and city council member on Wednesday morning. It happened at 71 Limestone Blvd., when agents from the Ohio Attorney General’s office descended on the home of Greg Phillips. Phillips, 47, is a school teacher at Chillicothe City Schools. He also represents the city’s first ward as a republican city council member and is a local youth pastor at a church in Kingston.
