HAMMON — Hydro-Eakly softball won 7-5 at Hammon Monday. Hydro-Eakly scored a run in the top of the first inning when Tessa York hit a home run above the center field fence. Hydro-Eakly scored two runs in the top of the third inning. Rees Berkey hit a home run above center field fence and York scored.

Dauris Lee Brown

Dauris Lee Brown passed away on April 4, 2022 at the age of 91. He was born on June 9, 1930 in Crawford, OK to the late Carl and Vauda Brown. He graduated from Crawford High School in 1949 and helped on the family farm until he enlisted in the United States Air Force in July 1950. While in the military he received the Korean Service Medal, UN Service Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, and National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged on December 16, 1953. He then continued to help his parents on the family farm until his employment at Safeway in Clinton, OK. On December 24, 1955, he married the girl from the farm separated by the barbed wire fence. From this union came two daughters and two sons. He was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company from 1956 to 1986. During the course of their marriage, they lived in Dumas, TX, Borger, TX, Fritch, TX, Amarillo, TX, Perry, OK, and Mustang, OK where Joanne currently resides.
