(Undated) – A two-vehicle accident sent two to the hospital yesterday. According to Crawford County Sheriff, Bill Rutan, thirty-one-year-old Amanda Smith of Casey, in a 2015 Dodge, failed to stop at the stop sign on 1000 E and 900 N, colliding with a 2006 Ford driven by thirty-three-year-old Justin Parkhurst of Robinson. Smith’s vehicle overturned into the field. She was transported to the Hospital by United Life Care Ambulance Service. Her passenger seventy-four-year-old Robert Feagans of Oblong was transported to the hospital by Air Ambulance. Crawford County Rescue and the Robinson Fire Protection District assisted on the scene.
The Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Aeronautics sent a letter to the Crawford County Airport Authority on March 23, 2022, alleging that Airport Authority Commissioner Robert Quick may be disqualified to serve on the airport board, because he was also a member of the Crawford County Memorial Hospital Board.

Morgan faces charges of Criminal Trespass, Burglary, resisting law enforcement, and was wanted on warrants out of both Crawford and Knox County.

Crawford County States Attorney, Cole Shaner has announced the sentence of 3 individuals on recent various crime convictions. On May 4th, 31-year-old Brittany N. Scott of Robinson was sentenced to 2 and a half years in the IDOC followed by a year of mandatory supervised release following the conviction of a theft charge.

The Crawford County Board is set to meet at the County Annex at 6 PM Thursday. On the agenda under new business, the board will look at approving an ordinance to opt out of Preferential Assessment for affordable housing and construction and rehabilitation. The board is also set to look at setting the Crawford County Sheriff’s salary and amend the resolution for the 2022 county maintenance budget. The county will also look at the approval of road work on a couple of stretches of county roads and approve a letter of agreement with Bellwether Budget Services for 2022-23 budget services.
