Lewiston Police investigating double-fatal crash after driver flees

A driver failed to yield for police, lost control of the vehicle, crashed into a brick retaining wall, and sheared off a power pole, Lewiston Police said Thursday morning. At about 12:41 a.m., an officer tried to stop a 1999 GMC Yukon near the 1800 block of Main Street. Police said the vehicle fit the description of a vehicle used by a subject involved in a crime on June 22nd.

Kamiah Fire Crews Handle Friday Morning Fire at Empire Lumber Silo

KAMIAH - At 4:14 a.m. Friday morning, Kamiah Fire-Rescue was dispatched to the Empire Lumber-Kamiah Mill for a fire in the fuel silo, a component of the boiler system. Upon arrival, employees had initiated fire suppression in the belt feeder area. KFR personnel stretched additional hose lines and suppressed the fire in the top 30’ of the belt feeder.

ISP asking for help finding Idaho man missing since 2018

Idaho State Police detectives are asking the public for help in the search of a man who has been missing for more than four years. Michael Murphy was last seen in Feburary 2018, according to news reports from that time, and was living in the Lewiston and Clarkston area. He is a Native American man with brown hair and brown eyes and is approximately 6 feet, 2 inches. He was 26 years old at the time of his disappearance, according to a news release from ISP. Those with information can contact ISP detective Joe Lake at 208-750-9350. Lake said that he is hoping bringing up the missing persons case will mean someone will come forward with additional information that will be the “missing puzzle piece.” “Our No. 1 goal is to return Michael Murphy to his family,” Lake said.
