Winfield man killed in Cowley County crash

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A 49-year-old Winfield man was killed in a one-vehicle crash on US Highway 77 in Cowley County on Tuesday. The crash happened at around 5:40 a.m. in the 33000 block of the roadway. A Jeep Cherokee driven by Eric Michael Andes was traveling north on Highway 77 when it left the roadway and rolled several times before coming to a stop in the median.

Winfield man killed in rollover crash, sheriff's office says

ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. (KAKE) - The Cowley County Sheriff's Office says a 49-year-old Winfield man has died following a rollover crash Tuesday morning. Emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle rollover in the 33000 block of U.S. 77, south of Arkansas City. The sheriff's office said Michael Andes was heading north on the highway when his 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee left the roadway and rolled several times, coming to rest in the median.

Law enforcement respond to fatal wreck

On September 27, 2022 The Cowley County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 33000 block of US 77 Highway for a one vehicle roll over accident. The driver, Eric Michael Andes, 49 of Winfield, was driving a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on US 77 Highway when it left the roadway and rolled several times coming to rest in the median. Andes was announced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. There were no passengers. An autopsy has been ordered by Coroner Dr. Willie Posey.

Crews respond to crash

Cowley County Fire District #3 says The Burden Fire Department and Winfield Fire/EMS responded to a motor vehicle collision on 7/17/22 just west of the Bolack corner. The involved vehicle had rolled multiple times and was resting on its roof in the roadway. Luckily, both occupants had only minor injuries and were transported to the hospital by private vehicle for evaluation.

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A man from Baxter Springs, Kansas is dead after a construction zone crash in Cowley County. Kansas Highway Patrol says that on Thursday, 72-year-old Billy Watson was driving on Highway 166, near Arkansas City, when he crashed his vehicle while in a construction zone. Watson drove his 1973 Ford Ranchero into the construction zone and side-swiped a street sweeper, which caused him to lose control.
