Michael Walker To Be Named City Manager

Michael Walker will be the new City Manager for Lakeland. That decision is expected to become official after a vote by the Board of Commissioners (BOC) at their monthly business meeting this coming Thursday, August 11, 2022. Mr. Walker has been acting as the Lakeland interim City Manager since the resignation of Shane Horn in June. Mr. Horn resigned to take a job back in his home state of Michigan which left the City Manager position open. The City Manager position is a crucial position for Lakeland since that role is responsible for all of the day-to-day activity in the city as well as managing staff.

LHS Lady Tiger Volleyball Takes on Brighton

With the start of the regular season right around the corner, the Lexington High School Lady Tigers volleyball team was getting in some more practice over the weekend, as the team traveled to Henderson, Tennessee to compete in a play day at Freed-Hardeman University. Lexington took on Brighton High School and Huntingdon High School during the competition and the Lady Tigers were victorious over Huntingdon, 3-0, and also over the Brighton Lady Cardinals, 2-1.

Beloved Mama and Mamie, Amy Elizabeth Floyd Moss passed away peacefully on August 6, 2022, in her 76th year, with her loving family by her side. Throughout her battle with ovarian cancer, she always had a smile or kind word to share.
