Class of 2023 top-five sophomore Omaha Biliew will transfer to Montverde (FL) Academy, he announced Friday via social media. “We put a lot of thought into this,” his trainer Tyler Sass told ZAGSBLOG Friday. “He wants to be the best so we choose to put him in a spot where he has to do that everyday. He’s around other guys of his caliber there which forces everyone to play at a high level.”

Team sports and I have had a very tumultuous relationship over the years. As a kid, I tried volleyball as part of my small elementary school team, but between the wall-sits and my eventual inability to master an overhand serve, I quickly abandoned the sport in middle school. The saying “two left feet” was likely defined by someone who happened to watch me attempt to dance, and my experience in basketball ended after one season as I loped down the court to make a basket for the opposing team after mixing up offense and defense. Tennis in high school was (and continues to be to this day) more about the outfits than the competition, and has been the only athletic experience I still choose to participate in.

Iowa State basketball will take on Creighton in the Big 12-Big East Challenge, the program announced Wednesday. The matchup two head coaches who used to work together. New Iowa State basketball coach T.J. Otzelberger will play against the coach who originally hired him at Iowa State in Greg McDermott. Otzelberger worked under McDermott from 2006 through 2010.
