Omaha firefighters call for second alarm during apartment fire

The Omaha Fire Department said 'improperly disposed smoking materials' caused the flames at the apartment complex near 156th & Q Streets. Crews on the scene said the fire on the third floor spread to the attic of the building. Firefighters called for a second alarm because of the heavy smoke. More than 40 firefighters responded to the call.

Tabor man arrested on Page County charges

(Shenandoah) – A Tabor man faces charges from two separate incidents. The Shenandoah Police Department says officers served a Page County warrant around 12:30 p.m. Saturday to 29-year-old James Michael Cruz for failure to appear on a scheduled court date. Officers also charged Cruz with 4th degree criminal mischief, stemming from a different incident and investigation.

Omaha emergency rooms affected by street restrictions Saturday

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Traffic heading to two hospital emergency rooms will be affected by road restrictions this weekend. According to Omaha Public Works, two emergency room entrances will only be accessible from certain streets until Sunday. The Methodist Hospital Emergency Room will only be accessible from South 84th Street.
