Canon City police investigate homicide

CANON CITY, Colo. (KKTV) - Canon City is investigating a homicide that reportedly happened near north 9th Street and Main Street just before 2 a.m. Friday. Officers responded to a stabbing in the area and upon arrival found a 21-year-old man with wounds. The victim was taken to the hospital but was reportedly pronounced dead.

Spiral Drive on Tenderfoot Mountain will be closed at the gate to all traffic—vehicle, bike, and foot traffic, on the 4th. One man is dead, another is being questioned after an overnight stabbing in Cañon City

One man is dead and another is being questioned following a fatal stabbing overnight in the 900 block of Greenwood Avenue. Cañon City Police Commander Elliott VanDyke said officers responded just before 2 a.m. to a stabbing at this location. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 21-year-old male who had been stabbed in the chest, he said. The victim was transported to St. Thomas More Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
