1 killed in Fremont County motorcycle crash

FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A motorcycle rider was killed Saturday afternoon after colliding with a pickup southeast of Cotopaxi. Troopers say the motorcyclist was trying to turn off of Highway 69 onto Fremont County Road 1A when they were rear-ended by an oncoming Dodge pickup. The rider died at the scene; the driver and passenger in the pickup were unhurt.

Fremont County parties to Flashback on Main

Fremont County showed up ready to party during the Flashback on Main event Saturday on Main Street. But there was much more than beer, live music and cool cars. People were happy to be out enjoying one another’s smiles, hugs and comradery after more than a year of social limitations spurred by the pandemic.

Salida gas price comparison: Cheapest gas in the area

(SALIDA, CO) Depending on where you fill up in Salida, you could be saving up to $0.06 per gallon on gas. On Saturday the cheapest gallon of unleaded regular in the area was at Conoco at 946 E Rainbow Blvd. Regular there was listed at $3.39 per gallon Wednesday, compared to $3.45 at Conoco at 337 W. 1St St., which GasBuddy clocked as the most expensive station in the area.

Community food center breaks ground in Colorado Springs' Hillside neighborhood

Residents of Colorado Springs' Hillside neighborhood celebrated the ground-breaking for a new community food center over the weekend. The food center, Hillside Hub, is meant to improve food resources for residents in southeastern Colorado Springs. Food to Power, formerly known as Colorado Springs Food Rescue, a local nonprofit that helps create better food options for the community, created the idea for the food center.
