The City of Corona is excited to announce we are conducting a Community Survey to identify residents’ perception about quality-of-life topics in Corona. The City of Corona has partnered with an independent consultant, Polco, to develop the survey. The instrument, known as The National Community Survey™, allows the City to compare results and benchmark residents’ opinions against other communities across the country. The survey includes questions about quality of life, important characteristics of community, services provided by the City of Corona, and priorities for the future.

CORONA, CA – On 6-17-2022, at approximately 12:59 P.M., officers from the Corona Police Department responded to 1950 Compton Avenue #105, to check the welfare of a business owner. Upon arrival, officers entered the business and found a 41-year-old woman deceased with visible injuries to her body. Responding officers were informed that a homeless person identified as 24-year-old, James Billingsley was known to the victim and known to frequent the location. After searching the business, officers were unable to locate Billingsley; therefore, a general broadcast of Billingsley was issued to officers assigned to canvass the area.

The Riverside County Children and Families Commission approved more than $250,000 in new funding to support drowning prevention efforts through the Corona-Norco Family YMCA. CORONA, CA – On May 12, 2022, at approximately 12:56 A.M., officers from the Corona Police Department responded to the 1300 block of Circle City Drive regarding the report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found three teenage male victims, ages 13-16, suffering from gunshot wounds. All three victims were treated at the scene and transported to local hospitals.

Your Corona Police Department and Corona Fire Department’s dispatchers receive notification of text message need for service in the same way they receive 9-1-1 calls. When the communication center receives a text message, it instantly populates on the screen of an available dispatcher to respond accordingly. The communications system will not only log the information into the department’s database in the same way it does for 9-1-1 calls, but it will also allow the dispatcher to enter additional information as it becomes available.

CORONA, CA– Between December 2021 and January 2022, the Corona Police Department investigated two separate allegations of sexual assault involving the same suspect. Both victims named 48-year-old Giovanny Aguilar from Perris, California as the suspect involved in the incidents. Aguilar is the Pastor of the Restoration Agape Church, located in Perris. The alleged incidents occurred within the jurisdiction of the Corona Police Department, and as a result, Corona Police have assumed the role of the lead investigating agency.
