2 Tarkio residents injured in crash near Rock Port

(Rock Port) -- Two Tarkio residents were injured after a crash in Atchison County Tuesday night. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says troopers responded to a crash shortly before 10 p.m. on the US 136 overpass at Interstate 29 near Rock Port. The patrol says 72-year-old Darwin C. Houghton of Tarkio was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox. Houghton's vehicle struck a 2013 Peterbuilt semi driven by 39-year-old Bryce J. Stuchlik of Wahoo, Nebraska.

Accident In Atchison County Seriously Injures Tarkio Man

Two from Tarkio were injured, one seriously, in a crash involving a semi Tuesday night in Atchison County. 39 year old Bryce J Stuchlik of Wahoo, Nebraska was driving a 2013 Peterbilt eastbound on Highway 136 at the overpass at I-29 at Rock Port and 72 year old Darwin C Houghton of Tarkio was turning westbound on Highway 136 from I-29 northbound. The towed unit of Houghton crossed both lanes of Highway 136 while making the turn. Stuchlik struck the towed unit of Houghton. Houghton was taken by Atchison-Holt County Ambulance to Fairfax Community Hospital and then airlifted to University of Nebraska Hospital. Houghton’s passenger, 70 year old Georgia M Houghton was taken to Fairfax Hospital.
