3 wrecks snarl traffic on GA 365 in Cornelia

Three wrecks within an hour and a mile of each other disrupted the evening commute Tuesday on GA 365 North in Cornelia. The first crash happened around 4:39 p.m. near the on-ramp from GA 105/Business US 441. According to the Georgia State Patrol, 19-year-old Holly Wade of Gillsville was driving north on GA 365 in a Toyota Corolla when she failed to maintain her lane. She overcorrected and ran off the highway. The Corolla plowed through a road sign before stopping in a ditch.

Authorities arrested an Auburn man on Tuesday for the alleged molestation of an underage girl. Hall County Sheriff's Office public information officer B.J. Gainesville man killed in weekend hit-and-run

A Gainesville man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle Saturday afternoon just east of the city, and police are searching for a suspect. The Georgia State Patrol said Victor Rodriguez, 49, was crossing Thousand Oaks Drive at about 6:30 p.m. A vehicle struck Rodriguez and fled the scene. Rodriguez died from his injuries. GSP said Rodriguez was wearing reflective clothing at the time of the incident.

Two Loganville parents were arrested on Wednesday for cruelty against children charges after about two months on the run. A press release from the Gwinnett County Police Department said William Linn McCue, 47, and Carina Wisniewski, 38, were the parents of Zoe McCue, 10, who was killed in a house fire in Loganville on April 17, 2022. The two ran from authorities shortly after the fire.
