HOLLAND — A Holland native has filed a new lawsuit against the Holland Police Department following a months-long fight over her requests for public documents. Sarah Jackson, a New York attorney who spent much of 2020 in Holland, filed the lawsuit Monday, June 21, in Ottawa County court. The lawsuit claims HPD and the city of Holland violated Freedom of Information Act law by failing to provide.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says they've closed two State Game Areas on the west side of the state to deal with trash and other issues at the park reserves. The closures affect the River Rogue State Game Area and Extension in Kent County between Cedar Springs and Kent City as well as the Muskegon State Game Area near Twin Lake.

KENTWOOD, Mich. — A man is in serious condition after a crash with a semi-truck in Kentwood Monday morning. Police say the crash happened just before 9 a.m. in the 3000 block of Breton Road SE when a pickup truck collided with a semi that was pulling into the road from a business.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A week-long job fair is coming to Grand Rapids this week, with the goal of fulfilling over 800 light industrial positions in West Michigan. The Express Employment Professionals of Grand Rapids is hosting the fair from June 21 to 25, open each day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. They will be offering both in-person and phone interviews.

MUSKEGON, MI – A new program in Muskegon County allows mothers who are incarcerated to see their children outside of a jail setting. Time Well Served, a partnership between the Muskegon County Sheriff’s Office and the Lakeshore Museum Center, takes small groups of inmates to the museum for a two-hour reunion.

WALKER, Mich. — Monday in Walker Speedrack Products Group held a groundbreaking at a new manufacturing facility in Walker. The new facility is expected to generate 164 new jobs for West Michigan. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer was at the event and thanked the company for their continued investment in the state.
