Rhinelander Area Pickleball group bringings the fastest growing sport to Pioneer Park

RHINELANDER, Wis. (WJFW) - Pickleball is a rapidly growing sport in the country. Some people describe as a cross between tennis and ping pong. Driving the sports growth is its accessibility to all ages. The Rhinelander Area Pickleball Group held its last summer gathering at Pioneer Park yesterday. It was part of a series of lessons to introduce more people to the sport.

Hazel Marion (Kuhnert) Kell, died Sunday, June 19, 2022, at the Aspirus Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff, WI. Hazel was born August 14, 1930 and was the daughter of Emma Zahrt and Robert Kuhnert. Hazel married Wilbert A. Kell on June 11, 1955, at Zion Lutheran Church in the town of Easton. The couple celebrated 56 loving years together. Hazel worked at GTE Telephone Co, farmed, and worked at Lemke’s Cheese Co.
