ST. IGNATIUS — Susan Marie “Susie” Loughlin passed away June 22, 2022, at St. Luke Community Hospital at 64 from a courageous battle with cancer. Susie was born October 17, 1957, to her mother, Patricia, and father Eddy Tryon. She was raised at the family ranch in Post Creek along with her seven siblings. Susie attended school in Saint Ignatius and moved to Alaska after graduation. She returned home to begin working with the tribe on September 24, 1980, where she worked for more than 41 years.

Flathead Indian Reservation outdoor burning by permit to be CLOSED as of July 1

RONAN — Fire officials with the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Division of Fire, have restricted debris burning (outdoor burning) starting Friday July 1, 2022. People who burned this spring should go check on their piles to make sure they are fully extinguished. While there are no restrictions at this time, we urge people to be careful with campfires and check for restrictions before recreating in the outdoors.
