HARLINGEN — Valley International Airport officials say they haven’t seen passenger numbers like those of the past three months in 14 years. McAllen’s 94th Annual Independence Day Celebration begins with an early morning patriotic program at 8 a.m., followed by the Main Street Parade at 9 a.m. along Main St. from Houston Ave. to Beech Ave. and then the Freedom Festival at Archer Park, 101 N. Main, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for classic family fun, music, food, and games. The day ends at Municipal Park, 1921 N. Bicentennial Blvd., from 6 to 10 p.m., for more food, live music and entertainment.
