Two people are dead and one man is seriously hurt following a shooting Saturday morning in Sedgwick County. The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office said that around 5:15 a.m., deputies were sent to the report of a shooting in the 4300 block of S. Rock Road. When they arrived on scene, they found a man and a woman dead from apparent gunshot wounds. Another man was seriously hurt, and he was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The Wichita Fire Department confirmed that just after 4 p.m. Saturday, a single-family home burnt down near Grove and Shadybrook in north Wichita. A child was at home when the fire started but was able to get out unharmed. No one else was hurt in the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Police said a man was shot while trying to break into a home in a north Wichita neighborhood late Saturday afternoon. The shooting was reported around 5:15 p.m. Saturday at a home near 12th and Broadway. Police said a homeowner shot the man, and the intruder was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The homeowner was not injured.

Strong to severe thunderstorms moved through south central Kansas Saturday afternoon and there were reports of several funnel clouds between Mulvane and Udall. The National Weather Service office in Wichita received several reports of funnel clouds around 5:30 p.m., but there were no reports of tornadoes touching down, and no tornado warnings were issued. Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for parts of Sedgwick and Sumner counties as radar indicated winds of 60 miles an hour with possible quarter sized hail.
