Pearl Street Pub closing, owners buying Lark Tavern

ALBANY — After 12 years as one of the most popular bars downtown, including the past five in the enormous former Jillian's building at 59 N. Pearl St., the Pearl Street Pub will close after business on Saturday night as the owners prepare to revive the historic Lark Tavern on Madison Avenue, closed since early last year.

When I think back on my favorite summertime memories from my childhood, going to the ice cream stand is definitely one of them. It was a big treat when my dad would pack the family into the car for a trip to our favorite ice cream stand on a hot summer evening. For me it was always a vanilla cone dipped in chocolate, or if I was feeling daring, dipped in cherry. When we were really young, we’d end up being drippy, sticky messes, but boy were we happy.

New Caribbean-American restaurant opens in Albany

ALBANY - A new Caribbean-American restaurant is officially open in our area. Adani's Kitchen in Albany held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday morning. Located at 290 Lark Street, the restaurant opened in February of this year for takeout and delivery, but is now fully opened with dine-in service, including an expanded outdoor seating area.
