Mizzou Hoops Adds Noah Carter for 2022-23

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri men’s basketball has officially announced the addition of Northern Iowa transfer, Noah Carter, to its 2022-23 roster. Carter comes to Mizzou following a standout three seasons at Northern Iowa, where he capped it off with a Second Team All-MVC honor in 2021-22. Carter will have two remaining seasons of eligibility entering the 22-23 season.

Former MU standout Smith joins Rock Bridge football staff

Former Missouri football and NFL standout Justin Smith is set to become the defensive ends coach at Rock Bridge, the team announced via its Twitter account Monday. Smith had a fruitful playing career in Missouri before turning pro. He was a standout at Jefferson City before joining the Tigers where he would become one of the greatest defensive linemen in team history.

Endangered Silver Advisory issued for woman possibly in St. Louis area

FULTON, Mo. – The Missouri State Highway Patrol has issued an Endangered Silver Advisory for a woman who is possibly located in the St. Louis area. Gladys Bowers, 68, was reported missing from her home in Fulton, Missouri, on May 8, 2022, according to MSHP. Bowers left her residential care facility that day and did not take her medications before leaving. Investigators say she may be in the care of her non-custodial son and en route to the St. Louis area.

Here come the roll carts. Columbia councilman approve the trash cart measure by a vote of 4 – 3. There was a ban in place on the use of the carts in Columbia. Residents have had to buy approved trash bags from the city. Jefferson City went thru the same debate years ago before adding both a trash cart and a recycling bin.

Hail up to one inch in diameter possible overnight in central Missouri

Large hail and heavy rain is possible overnight in mid-Missouri, including in Columbia, Jefferson City and Fulton. National Weather Service (NWS) St. Louis meteorologist Marshall Pfahler tells 939 the Eagle that a large cluster of storms are expected to arrive in the listening area between 1 and 5 tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, adding that large hail up to one inch in diameter is possible.

Boone County man, woman charged in Camden County drug bust

A Boone County man and woman are charged in connection with a drug bust in Camden County last week. On Friday, the Camden County Sheriff’s office announced that they’d stopped a driver on Osage Beach Parkway and found narcotics in the vehicle. Their investigation led deputies to the Hawk’s Nest Lodge, where the driver was staying. Deputies found controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and stolen goods that had been taken from the Osage Beach area. Two people were arrested.
