Got ghost towns? We do. Colorado in fact has no shortage of haunted and abandoned towns that will send a shiver down your spine. While many of these places are tucked away pretty deep in the Rockies and a bit of a drive, outside of Dearfield, which is about 20 miles past Greeley on Highway 34, one of those towns is St Elmo, Colorado, which is about a 2.5-hour drive from Denver on County Road 162 off HWY 285.

Bad News For Colorado: North Park Wolf Pack GPS Collar Stops Working

The state of Colorado was already facing challenges with the re-introduction of gray wolves, now there's even more concern because of the failure of a radio collar. According to the Coloradan, the wolf pack in northern Colorado had been fitted with three GPS collars to help wildlife officials keep track of the pack's location. Unfortunately, the last remaining working collar failed last month. The collar had been attached to the breeding male of the pack, but now it becomes very difficult to have current information on where the wolf pack is located.

DMV to send monthly registrations reminders July 6

Motor vehicle registration renewal reminders for Coloradans whose vehicle registrations expire in July 2022 will not be mailed in June. Because of end-of-fiscal-year programming updates, registration reminders will be sent on July 6. August renewals may also be delayed. The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles is encouraging residents to check when their vehicle registration expires and plan accordingly.

Injured 20-Pound Bald Eagle Rescued From Tree in Colorado

An injured bald eagle is recovering, after being rescued from a tree in Berthoud over the weekend. On June 19, Colorado Parks and Wildlife observed a juvenile bald eagle whose right-side wing had been impaled by a branch while in its nest up in a tree. Wildlife officials had been closely monitoring this specific nest prior to the incident, which is how they noticed the bird in despair so quickly after it happened.
