Shooting near carnival in Colorado injures at least 3

At least three people were reportedly shot Friday night near carnival rides in a parking lot on the east side of The Citadel mall. Friends Audrie Vela and Alexis Garcia were arriving at the carnival after 9 p.m. with their two children when they saw several young men open fire on the crowd.

Two Colorado shootings leave five injured

Five people were injured following two shootings that appear to have happened across the street from each other in Colorado Springs. The Colorado Springs Police Department tweeted early Saturday morning that they had received a report that shots had been fired at around 9 p.m. Friday during a carnival at The Citadel mall.

Colorado governor signs bill allowing cities to set their own gun restrictions into law

Colorado governor Jared Polis on Saturday signed three gun reform bills into law. The new regulations come on the heels of a mass shooting in Boulder earlier this year. Bill SB21-256 allows cities in Colorado to establish their own gun regulation, overwriting a previous state law that "prohibits a local government from enacting an ordinance, regulation, or other law that prohibits the sale, purchase, or possession of a firearm." While the new law gives local jurisdictions more latitude to set their own gun control regulations, it does prohibit them from enacting regulations that are "less restrictive" than state law.

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis has taken to the airwaves to remind Coloradans not to set off illegal fireworks this Fourth of July holiday season. In television commercials that began to air statewide this week, the state’s top official warmly reminds everyone to celebrate safely. Victims identified in Colorado plane crash that departed from Neosho, Mo.

NEOSHO, Mo. (KY3) - Authorities have identified a couple killed in a plane crash Wednesday afternoon after the plane took off from Neosho, Missouri. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado has identified the victims as Kathleen Velazco, a 65-year-old woman, and Antenor Velazco, a 73-year-old man. Both are from Jonesboro, Georgia. The Denver Gazette reports Antenor was a doctor in Georgia.

Delivery truck driver attempts to navigate a Colorado mountain pass and fails miserably

SAN MIGUEL COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - “No, mountain passes are typically not considered delivery routes.”.
