South Park creators reportedly hope to save Casa Bonita in Colorado by buying it

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (KKTV) - Casa Bonita just outside of Denver is just as much a part of Colorado as Red Rocks and Pikes Peak. The restaurant known for its cliff diving and sopapillas is reportedly being considered for purchase by the creators of South Park. The cartoon is not a kid-friendly show, but features four kids from Colorado who even visited the landmark restaurant in one episode.

South Park's Trey Parker and Matt Stone are trying to buy Casa Bonita, the beloved Colorado restaurant featured on their show

Parker and Stone hope to buy the restaurant after its owner, Summit Family Restaurants, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on April 6. “We want to buy Casa Bonita and treat it right. I feel like it was neglected even before the pandemic,” Parker tells The Hollywood Reporter. Parker says, however, that the bankruptcy may hamper a potential sale. "We are absolutely trying to buy it,” Parker said. “We are going to do everything we can. We want to make it right and make it amazing.”
