Laughton Talmage “Tootie” Rowland, Jr., 82, of Chatham died Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at his residence. Born April 25, 1940 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Laughton Talmage Rowland, Sr. and Nora Rowland. He was predeceased by a brother, R.C. “Boots” Rowland. Mr. Rowland was a member of Payneton United Methodist Church, an Air Force Veteran, and the former owner/operator of Burnette’s Diner in Chatham. He loved golf and was a member and Club Manager at Cedars Country Club for 17 years. He also loved playing cards and spending time with his pet companion, “Chico.”
