Flash Flood Watch Issued for St. Cloud Area

(KNSI) – The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Central Minnesota. The watch is in effect from 10 p.m. Friday through Saturday Morning in Benton, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Sherburne, Stearns and Todd County. The watch includes the cities of St Cloud, Cambridge, Sauk Rapids, Princeton, Little Falls, Long Prairie, Mora, and Elk River.

Roads closed due to flooding after storms in central Minnesota

Repeated rounds of thunderstorms late Thursday and early Friday brought flooding rain to parts of central Minnesota, along with hail and high winds. The National Weather Service relayed a report from law enforcement officials on Friday morning "that the Little Elk River is flooding in the town of Randall. Heavy Rain Overnight Causes Flooding Around St. Cloud Metro

ST. CLOUD -- After several inches of rain fell overnight, there is a lot of street flooding in the St. Cloud metro area. The National Weather Service says St. Cloud officially had .79 inches of rain up until midnight on Thursday. They say we've had an additional 3.32 inches of rain since midnight (as of 6:00 a.m.) for a total of 4.11 inches of rain officially at the St. Cloud Regional Airport.

ST. CLOUD -- Some eye-popping rain totals are coming in from overnight. The Minnesota Climatology Office says the highest total they've seen so far is 7.4 inches of rain in Randall. Weather observes say 5.93 inches of rain fell northwest of Sartell, there are reports of 5.50 and 4.86 inches both from Sauk Rapids, 4.61 inches in St. Joseph, and 4.20 inches in St. Cloud.

BCA: St. Cloud Officer Involved in Shooting Standoff Suspect

(KNSI) – A St. Cloud Police Officer and a Wright County Deputy are under investigation after an officer-involved shooting connected to a barricaded suspect in St. Michael. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says 39-year-old Brandon Gardas was shot after a 44-hour standoff. The first shooting happened at about 11:55 p.m. on Tuesday and involved a Wright County Sheriff’s Deputy. The second shooting happened at about 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, involving a St. Cloud Police Officer. Gardas was struck by gunfire in the second incident.

Highway 10 Closed in Both Directions Between Randall and Cushing

The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol have closed Highway 10 in both directions between Randall and Cushing in Morrison County. The area received 12 inches of rain overnight Thursday and predicted storm activity could bring more rain by Saturday. MnDOT says Highway 10 will remain closed until further notice. East/west travelers should follow the alternate route between Little Falls and Motley as follows:
