Voting equipment demonstrations to be held in Brazos County next week

Brazos County elections officials will be holding two voting equipment demonstrations at the county elections office in Bryan next week. Voters can walk through the voting process with the county's elections administrator, Trudy Hancock, to practice casting a ballot with a voting machine. The county's voting machines now include paper ballots.

Burton ISD prepares for upcoming election

Burton — Burton ISD Board of Trustees passed two items Monday at its meeting to move forward with holding an election Nov. 2. The first passed item was the approval of a joint election agreement with Washington County. According to Superintendent Edna Kennedy, holding a joint election helps the district keep the costs down as the county will handle the printing of materials.

Voting Equipment Demonstrations Next Week

Brazos County, TX – Brazos County Elections Administrator Trudy Hancock is offering two opportunities for voters to walk through the voting process and cast a demo ballot in advance of the upcoming elections. Brazos County voting machines have been retrofit to now include a paper ballot, so the voting process is different from previous elections.

Brazos County elections officials test new voting machines ahead of November elections

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Officials with the Brazos County Election Administration office began testing new voting equipment recently acquired. Senate Bill 598 was passed in June and went into effect on Sept. 1, 2021. The bill requires all Texas voting systems to leave a paper trail of votes. State law also requires that all machines be tested before being used in elections.
