Boys & Girls Club raises $17,000 at golf tournament

It was a beautiful day to spend outside for a great cause Monday, as Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri hosted the eighth annual Putting “Fore” The Kids Golf Tournament, presented by McCarthy Toyota of Sedalia. Thirty teams competed for top honors and bragging rights at the tournament which raised $17,000 for Boys & Girls Clubs programs and operations.

Pro bull riding tour raises money for Honor Flight

The Amped Up professional bull riding tour will be hosted Friday and Saturday at the Jennings Arena in Green Ridge. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with mutton busting at 6:30 p.m. There will be live music, Honkey Tonk Dream on Friday night and Cedar Creek on Saturday. The event will also host silent auctions and a 50/50 raffle that will go directly to the Central Missouri Honor Flight.

Sedalia Woman Accused of Removing Daughter from Ex-Spouse’s Custody in Lathrop

Authorities have charged a Sedalia woman with interfering with the custody of her daughter. In a probable cause statement filed with the court, officers with the Lathrop Police Department say 27-year old Kirsty M. O’Donnell took her 6-year old daughter from the child’s father, who has sole custody. The father reported that O’Donnell was to only have supervised visitation with the girl and that the child’s mother was not responding to texts or phone calls.

A fundraiser will be hosted June 26 to raise money for the Green Ridge Sesquicentennial being celebrated later this year. From 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 26 at the Green Ridge School cafeteria, a meal from Fazoli’s can be purchased for $8 in advance or $10 at the door. The menu includes lasagna, breadstick, green beans, cookie and a beverage.
