Pintos boys basketball competes at Paradise Shootout

STOVER, Mo.— The California Pintos boys basketball team had a busy two days during the Paradise Shootout at Stover June 16-17. The Pintos played three games on the first day against Iberia, Sherwood and Stoutland. On the second, they played in three more contests, matching up against Lincoln, Meadville and Crest Ridge. Each game consisted of two halves of 17 minutes.

SFCC FOUNDATION ADDS SIX NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The State Fair Community College Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of six new members who will serve two-year or three-year terms on its Board of Directors. The new members are Thomas J. Van Leer, Steve Scheiner, Megan Page, Stephanie Garrett, Dr. Jon Ehlers, and Laura Harris. The board currently has 15 members.

After signing a track and field letter of intent last Tuesday in the media center at Boonville High School, Boonville senior Daylynn Baker said she chose State Fair Community College in Sedalia because of the location and the idea of being apart of the foundation for a great new program.

Spring athletes were recognized Thursday, May 20 at Stover High School. Many athletes werew presented with post season honors. Volleyball Coaches Candace Bauer and Shelly Nelson took the podium first to present certificates of recognition to the girls team and highlight Kate Jackson, who received conference, district, and state honors this season. Bauer discussed the difficulty the team had with scheduling due to COVID-19, spending the conference season in quarantine.

Lincoln University has named one of its basketball coaches to be interim president. The Jefferson City school said on Thursday that John Moseley will start the job on May 22.
