Boating accident victims identified

PRIEST RIVER — Bonner County Sheriff's officials have recovered the bodies of four men who died in a Tuesday boating accident on the Pend Oreille River. The four men were reported missing after the boat they were in capsized on the Pend Oreille River near Thama on Tuesday. The Thama area is about 2 miles from Priest River and about 16 miles from Sandpoint.

Victims located, identified in Pend Oreille River boat crash

SANDPOINT, Idaho — The Bonner County Sheriff’s Office has located and identified the people involved in the boat crash that occurred on Tuesday evening. The bodies of Gregory J. Daiker, 59, of Laclede, Aaron J. Faulhaber, 49, of Laclede, Jason L. Maxson, 51, of Laclede, and John R. Schulte, 59, of Sandpoint, were recovered from the river.

Boating accident victims recovered, identified

The four victims lost in Tuesday's boating accident have been recovered and identified. On Tuesday night, June 28, at the time of the initial response to the boating accident, the sheriff’s office recovered the body of 59-year-old Gregory J. Daiker of Laclede.

The body of 49-year-old Aaron J. Faulhaber of Laclede was recovered on Thursday at 9 p.m., in approximately 80 feet of water, near the original accident location.

Efforts continue in search for missing boaters

PRIEST RIVER — Efforts to find three missing boaters were unsuccessful Thursday, Bonner County Sheriff's Office officials said. The trio were reported missing after the boat they were in capsized on the Pend Oreille River near Thama on Tuesday. The body of a fourth person in the performance-style boat was located Wednesday near where the accident occurred.
