Eagle seeking video crew members for high school sports season

Hays Post and Eagle Radio of Hays are looking for people who would be interested in joining our sports crew in 2021-22 to cover the local high school football and basketball sports seasons. This is our ninth season we have live streamed the Hays High and Thomas More Prep-Marian football and basketball seasons. We also cover other high school sports throughout the year.

Principal Marty Straub reflects on tenure at Hays High

Randall on CoSIDA Academic All-District Women’s Basketball Team

HAYS - CoSIDA named Fort Hays State Women's Basketball senior Whitney Randall to its Academic All-District Team on Thursday. Randall is one of just five student-athletes from District 7 (MIAA, NSIC, and GAC Conferences) to receive the honor. Sports Information and Athletic Communication professionals within District 7 vote on the Academic All-District Team, which honors a combination of academic and athletic accomplishments of the individuals selected.

🏀 Hammeke signs Letter of Intent with FHSU

Fort Hays State men’s basketball has added another player for next season. Lucas Hammeke of Trinity Catholic High School in Hutchinson has signed a letter of intent. Lucas is the younger brother of current Tiger guard Kaleb Hammeke.

Boys basketball hosts end-of-season banquet, presents student awards

To close out the season, the boys basketball banquet was held in the cafeteria at 6 p.m. on April 18. The team finished strong with a 22-1 run, alongside winning sub-state, league, the Colby Orange & Black Classic and the Hays City Shootout, resulting in the best season in school history.

🏀 Tigers sign Youngstown State transfer

The Fort Hays State men's basketball program has signed Geoff Hamperian, a 6-5 forward from Morgantown, West Virginia. Hamperian was with Youngstown State for three seasons which included a redshirt year. In two seasons, he played in 31 games making three starts and averaged 2.1 points and 1.1 rebound per game.
