High Court Gives Piedmont Man Retrial in Iron County but He Decides to Plea Bargain This Time

(Ironton) Early this year, the Missouri Supreme Court vacated an Iron County jury’s guilty verdict against a Piedmont man with a retrial ordered. The high court says the circuit court of Iron County had erred in failing to instruct the jury as to whether Samuel Jerry Whitaker was entitled to use self-defense in order to prevent arson on his property because there was substantial evidence of an imminent threat that Whitaker’s son-in-law Carl Lee Streeval, who Whitaker shot and killed in 2013, was going to burn down a trailer on Whitaker’s property.

Fredericktown’s Alivia Buxton Scorches Nets – Selected Girls Soccer Player Of The Year

(Fredericktown) Fredericktown’s Alivia Buxton is a rare talent. The scoring machine had one of the best careers in all of Missouri high school soccer. The senior is in the MSHSAA record books and top-5 for goals in a game, goals in a half, assists, total points in a single game, and holds numerous Fredericktown records. She’s accomplished so much in her high school career and didn’t even get to play all four seasons. Buxton was able to score 66 goals this season, and while it may be an individual stat, she sees it as a team accomplishment.

This groovy, trippy (feel free to insert your favorite 1967 word here) camper is one of the most unique Airbnb's you'll find in Missouri. It's a true throwback hosted by Misty. Here are some pics of what luxury camping was (kinda) like 55 years ago.
