Greenbrier County placing police officers in local schools

Lewisburg, WV (WOAY) – Greenbrier County Schools have partnered with local law enforcement organizations to employ Prevention Resource Officers (PROs) in Greenbrier schools. When classes begin on August 29, schools will introduce a trained uniformed officer to their security team. The school safety initiative is a proactive security measure in the wake of recent mass shooting tragedies.

Summers County man arrested following two alleged theft incidents

A Summers County man has been arrested following two alleged thefts. After investigating two separate incidents, police recently arrested Jacob Ryan Beavers, 23. Beavers is facing both a felony and a misdemeanor charge. According to the criminal complaint for the first incident, a report was filed stating that an individual had broken into the victim's garage. The victim allegedly received a call from an individual stating Beavers had broken into his garage.
