Police find cocaine, firearm during routine traffic stop in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, VA. (WFXR) — A driver in Lynchburg is facing multiple drug and firearm charges after being pulled over due to improper vehicle tags. Earlier this week, Officer Skillman and Officer Reed of the Lynchburg Police Department were proactively patrolling during their shift, when they observed a vehicle with improper tags. A regular traffic stop was initiated, and the K9 on duty performed a narcotic scan of the vehicle. The K9 positively alerted the officers after the scan, prompting a vehicle search.
