While conducting area patrol in the undeveloped section of Splendora Fields neighborhood a Splendora Police Department Night shift officer observed a Ford F-150 parked in a dirt driveway off Cooperstown Way, without any running lights on with a red and blue light bar activated. The officer made contact with the driver and asked for consent to search of the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, the officer located a beanie hat that had Police stitched on it and a firearm that was later discovered to be stolen from Harris County. The driver, identified as Jerardo Munis Lara, 25, of 20318 Bobby ibn Porter was placed in custody for multiple charges and transported to Montgomery County Jail. He is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail on charges of False ID as a police officer, (which was not accepted by the District Attorney’s Office) possession of marijuana, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

Power restored after outage impacted over 1,000 customers in Spring area

SPRING – Over 1,000 residents in the Spring area were experiencing power outages on Thursday evening. According to Centerpoint Energy’s website, the power was originally expected to be restored by 6:15 p.m., however, it was updated before 8 p.m. Officials say it is unclear why the outages happened.

Crime Tip Leads to Drug Bust and Recovery of Stolen Social Security Cards, Passports, checks and Vehicle Titles

SPRING, TX -- On May 18, 2022, deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Special Operations and Canine Unit responded to a crime tip alert in the 5800 block of Stratton Woods Drive. It was reported a known female, Julicet Diaz-Gonzalez was at the location and had an open Felony Warrant for a Parole Violation. Deputies were met by two males at the front door of the residence who claimed she was not at the location.

Grand Parkway section connecting New Caney to Baytown opens Thursday

After decades in the planning and years of construction, the final 54-mile-long section of the Grand Parkway that connects New Caney to Baytown will open Thursday afternoon. At 184 miles long, the Grand Parkway is the longest highway loop in the entire United States. It is the third circumferential highway around the Greater Houston Area – the others being the 610 Loop and Beltway 8. The first section of the Grand Parkway – Segment D in Fort Bend County – opened in 1994. Construction of the final segments – H, I-1 and I-2 – began in 2018.

Authorities Working to Trap a Monkey that Got Loose in Corrigan, Texas
