Tri-C receiving $41.6 million in stimulus money

Cuyahoga Community College has announced it has received $41,645,625 in stimulus money from the higher education fund of the American Rescue Plan Act. The money is part of an estimated $1.1 billion in funding earmarked for Ohio colleges and universities, about a quarter of which will go to schools in Northeast Ohio. In the region, Tri-C is receiving the second-highest amount of money, behind Kent State University, according to a news release.

NSF Awards Kent State $1.6M for Teacher Retention, Studies

KENT, Ohio – The National Science Foundation has awarded three grants totaling $1.6 million to projects at Kent State University. The bulk of the funding, $1 million, is going toward the retention of newly hired secondary teachers in the STEM fields – science, technology, engineering and math – for high-needs settings.

Hawken, Terrence S. Robinson II look to spread their wings: 2021 football camp tour

CLEVELAND, Ohio — With just four games last season and a late start, Hawken is making the most of a full summer in preparation for the high school football season. Quarterback Terrence S. Robinson II led Hawken last season with 793 yards and six touchdowns with a 57 percent completion rate, plus two more rushing TDs. He set the school record for competitions in a game, connecting on 26 against Berkshire. He also completed at least 62 percent of his passes in three of Hawken’s four games and has two targets back this year in A.J. Sands (165 yards, one TD on 15 receptions) and Jordan Harrison, who doubles as a cornerback after giving up just two completions on seven targets last year.
